Has anyone ever seen a mans Black Beauty?? I have purchased a watch(not here yet) that may be a mans Black Beauty.
This one is challanging, as we have a "Black Beauty" ad which confuse me, but is for a "Ladies". Here's Bob's Black Beauty watch record. Don't know if there's a "Mans" version. I too think the mens is the "Air King".

No "Black Beauty" in the mens section of the 1964 Spring quarterly price list, but in the woman's section its listed. The unique Bulova model number system changed between 1958 and 1961, so we have both "older model numbers" and newer model numbers listed in the 1961 and 1964 price lists. Of course, we don't have a cross reference btwn old and new number systems, but the 1961 list does have one section showing a subset of models with both old and new numbers. The 6746 number for the Black Beauty is in the new system.

Ah, this is the fun of Bulova model names.
What year was the model issued, what band was on it at the time of sale, what direction was the wind blowing when the advertisment was put to print?
For the longest time we here collectively referred to the womens black dialed "Berkshire" as the Ladies Air King, then someone found the ad showing it as the Black Beauty.

Thanks guys. It is a dead match for the Air King of bobbe's. Now I just need to clean it up and get it ready for sale.
On another note fellas, I am going to sell out every thing since my shaking hands have gotten worse and I am having a hard time trying to work on stuff. I think Rich Callamaras is going to buy the whole lot. He is comming down in November to see me and will probably take every thing but the few watches I will be keeping.
It sure has been great working with you all and working on the watches.
