1930 Bulova Conqueror

Hello...I am curious of options for the 1930 Conqueror. I recently acquired one with the 1930 date symbol, and the case just has Bulova Quality Pat Jan 11 1927 but does not indicate whether it gold filled but has the look of white gold. Any model/ case options for this year would be appreciated.

The 1927 date refers to the patent date of the dust proof shield that helps cover the movement and is not an indicator of the year of production of the case or movement. The inside back case should have a serial number that begins with either a 0 or 1, matching to either 1930 or 1931. This model was only available in 14K white gold filled as far as I'm aware.

The case has a serial number of 0181844. Even though the case does not designate whether it is 14k or 14kgf...I tested the lug which has the most wear and it tests for 14k.

The case will test positive as a 14K gold filled case actually has a descent layer of actual gold over the top of the base metal.

Thank you for the info..I don't want to file it either to be more certain. Hopefully this one will be restored as it runs strong and has a neat look.
