Watch Description

This one is super clean with minimal tipping on the lugs and a wear line on case back edge at the crown from winding. It's surprisingly small at 26mm approx across not counting lugs or crown.  Mounted on a Bretton expansion band that looks NOS. As received. I purchased this described as a 1945 Practitioner; but knew it was incorrect, as the case back bears an American Standard shield next to "Bulova". I hoped for a Buckingham, but on arrival, it's has a 15 jewel movement and not 17.

After more digging, I found another identical in the database. It appears to be a 1936 Aeronaut.

The single ad in the database is dated 1936 and by price -  15 jewels, but lists color as white. Dial font also is different. We came to group consensus that the previous only other example was an Aeronaut.

Hands are slightly mismatched, or the hour hand was trimmed. Keeping near perfect time. The only interior case marks are a multitude of jeweler marks. I really like these early center sweep watches.....

UPDATE: I didn't see it until I uploaded the photos below that the dial has a notch at 12, indication it was redone.

Found a second ad for Bulova Aeronaut, wish it had a jewel count though. Ad from The Record, Hackensack, NJ 15 Dec 1936

Nice ad find! Price would seem to indicate 15J movement. Buckingham in 1938 was advertised at $37.50 calling out 17J

1936 Bulova Aeronaut looks to be a good match.
