1944 President G. in excellent condition.

Dial is undocumented on ads for this year (that I've seen). Wondering if this is a redial or original.

It looks like a President "G" to me with a possible dial replacement.  This ad Detroit_News_1945-11-07_9.png

Now that I have it in my hands, I'm not convinced it's a President G. I took it apart and judging from the patina, that dial has been in this case for a very, very long time.

And no offense intended but that ad isn't convincing enough for me to even think that's the same case.

Yes now that I know it is rose gold I am not sure as well.  I don't think it is a Craftman though. I would say President but variant not known or just Unknown model.

Definitely not a Craftsman. I own one :-) (see below on left vs this one) very similar dimensions though. I submitted the only other watch that the board thought possibly was a President G. The ad was from  1946, so we don't know what the dial is supposed to look like. I guess until we get a confirmed President G, we won't know.

I submitted this one: https://mybulova.com/watches/1942-president-g-12489
I was going to buy it but we couldn't identify it either. The owner had it from an estate sale and the original owner was deceased. So, no history available there. I passed on that one because it was an unknown.

The weird part about this dial is that the font isn't used on any other dial except it's similar to the 1939 President. So, honestly I don't know. The dial definitely looks 'at home' in the watch. My cleaning reveal that the dial has been in the same position for many decades.

Shrug.. put this one in unknown too. The good thing is that I got this one for $300 bucks. So... can't really go wrong there.

BTW, the crystal dimensions are exactly the same as a craftsman A. 21.5 x 17.5 mm
