I really like this one, thanks for sharing.

We have a couple of these in the database, here and here. This is one we have been unable to ID as of yet. Hopefully one day an ad will surface.

Sorry, but for now it's a

1942 Unknown.

Commonly called a drivers watch. This case was made by A third party case manufacturer and sold to multiple watch companies including Longines  Bulova Hamilton and Elgin. It is called a drivers watch as it’s intended to be worn on the side of the wrist  so that your hand does not need to be removed from the steering wheel while driving.  Earlier models have hinged lugs but some of the later ones have fixed lugs. Nice watch but unfortunately we do not have any documentation of a name for this one.

Did Bulova use third party cases and put their name on it? This case is Bulova marked on the inside of the case back.

We see these once in awhile.  Would love to find a name.  Unknown for now.

There was a suggestion years ago that this might be a Bulova Chief.

Whilst we have an advert for the 1942 Bulova Chief, I'm not sure it's been backed up by another advert.

Alas unknown for now.

Are you able to advise what the crystal dimension are?

Sorry, I just saw this inquiry. The crystal dimensions measured without taking it out are .816 or 20.7mm SQ.

I believe it would be a cs425 crystal. My crystal is faceted but I will be replacing that and I think the cs425 is the standard crystal.
