Watch Description

While I'm being awkward here's something really unhelpful to work on.  I can confidently say that it's round but everything else is up for debate. It looks like the caseback SHOULD come off but I've scratched it once trying, can't see a notch to aim for but there is a groove. I'll show my watch guy in a couple of weeks when I see him next and update.Hope you can make out the "BULOVA SWISS" etched on the back along with the old Bulova goddess. Other than it says waterproof I got nothing else to add sorry.

Is 1960 a guess, or is it stamped M0?

Complete guess, all known information given, there is no option to upload without a date

hmmm, let's get that case open so we can date it. I think it's closer to 1970 than 1960. I'm also pretty sure that it's an "International" model of some sort given that case back. Cool watch, I'd wear it!

I'll have another go at getting the back off but much as I know where it looks like it should open there's nowhere easy to insert an opener and don't want to damage anything. Very slim case 

I'm reasonably confident that it's early not later 60s, stylistically it reminds me of the 23 BAW (and others) with the gold hour track. International is a definite possibility although I did buy it from the US.

You can always offer me a trade if you like it Geoff, I'm sure you'll have something I like ;)

The use of Waterproof had ended in the late 60s. 

It's hard to tell, but it may be a top loader where the crystal and bezel ring must be removed and the stem is a two-piece.

This should be a top loader.   There should be a bezel ring around the crystal that needs to be removed.   Once you removed that the movement will pop out the top.

I know i have seen this watch somewhere in the linebooks or something very similiar.  I think in the Sea King or Clipper line.    Actually thinking it was in the late 50's early 60s.

I knew I saw a similar one.   This might be from the American Eagle collection.   This is from the 1960 Line book but the case and dial is a little different

I think you're on to something Jim. That does look like a very close match.

Line book also states "A" meaning they had other variants

It will be good to see the movement which may help narrow down the search.

I have come back to this one numerous times, and am still mystified. Seeing the movement and inside of interior case back would help, assuming one or the other has a date code on it.

"Waterproof" on dial would indicate pre-circa 1968, but case back design strikes me as newer than that. US models switched to "water resistant" in 68 or 69; as for internationally produced models for non-US market, I'm not sure.

 I don't believe I have ever seen one marked in this fashion (etched vs. stamped) that old. It may, however be a European produced model I'm not familiar with.

I'm still at unknown model of unknown date
