1972 Oceanographer 'Q'

Case is all stainless steel, number J-3012, made in Japan, dated N1.  Blue dial with faded orange center hand, lighter blue markers, day and date window at 3:00. Swiss-made movement is dated N2. Band is not original.

The dial looks like it fresh off the factory floor. What an amazing example. Love that yellow contrasting second hand as well.

The 1972 ABC case parts calatog also matches the case 3012 as white (SS) with a 11ANACB movement.

I think the second hand and the lume pips were originally more orange. I also sometimes see in the parts catalog that the movement it calls for may not be the same found in later watches, but one that is an updated movement model with a letter difference like AOACB instead of ANACB.
