I really like this one with the diamond dial. It needs a new crystal that I am hoping to get in a lot I have coming soon. So I photographed it with and without the crystal to show the pretty dial.
The case is 10k yellow gold filled that is date stamped L1. The movement is a 6BC with 17 jewel that is also date stamped L1.
The 1955 price list has a Carol "A" and a Carol "C" at $71.50 but I have not been able to confirm which variant is for the yellow.
That is a real beauty for sure. I've got a weakness for diamond dials. Ad pictures it in white w/ no color choice notation, so my guess is white came first with yellow being an option. If we can find an ad showing it in white with the option of white or yellow or "also avail in yellow", I'd be in for "C" as yellow. Just an observarion based on how Bulova ads seem to be pretty consistant in that respect. In any event,
1951 Bulova Carol - nice ad finds and apparently a first for the Db. Congrats!

Thank you Bob! I have had my eye on this model for awhile now but hadn't found just the right one. This one was priced right and was working so I went for it. Hopefully another ad or price list will come along to confirm the variant in the future. Now to find the ruby version ; )
