Watch Description

The Her Excellency "N" was my first vintage Bulova and it is still one of my favorites.  While the "N" was advertised well this one seems to have not been advertised at all (at least I haven't found anything).  It also probably didn't sell very well as this is only the second one I have seen.  She is very pretty and a nice addition to my Her Excellency collection.  I will put a comparison shot next to the "N" and "M".

The case is 10K white gold filled.  It has a 49 date stamp on the working 21 jewel movement.

Nice one Kathy but I'm confused, M is yellow gold, N is rose gold, do we know the variant of the white model you've presented?

Thank you Geoff.  I have nothing on a variant for this one.  I can only guess because there are no ads that I can find.

Price lists usually show yellow then white. I would have thought red/rose came third.

Generic Her Excellency.

Both "L" and "O" are already taken by other case variants.

Watchophilia has a yellow gold version with numbered dial as the Her Excellency "X" so this may be the "Y".

Note the dial config on the left watch. Prefect match for the subject watch.

Yes this one has me scratching my head a bit.  I wonder why they had a yellow gold version at $62.50 and one at $71.50, both gold filled.  I don't see a "Y" on the accumulated pricelist but there is a "Z" at $71.50 that is a possibility and there is a "V V" at $62.50 that could also be a possibility.  No mention of the white version anywhere that I can find so without ad support I am at a loss.  I found lots of nice Her Excellency ads while looking so that was a plus.

I found ads for the "X" with and without the Excellency on the dial.  And some were in 1948 so that takes it being a later model out of the equation, that was a thought of mine until I found the 1948 ads for the "X".  Will attach a couple of the ads here just for discussion but I agree an generic HE is a good call.

Nice one Kathy.

1949 Her Excellency.

Nice ad find, Stephen. Based on the Bulova variant lettering system we have seen so far, I could go for tentative "Y" if that is the consensus.

Thank you Bob.  I am not finding a "Y" variant on the accumulated price lists.  Doesn't mean there wasn't one but it isn't on the list..  There is a "Z" at $71.50, maybe?  At this point who knows lol

Could certainly be the "Z". The hunt continues.
