Well I went to the flea market wearing my newly identified 1957 Pelham from last week. I swung by a table with a bunch of broken watches and pulled out another 1957 Pelham. I just finished servicing it and it is running great. Included a picture of the twins....
It is a yellow gold plate case and back with an L7 date code. The dial is white with yellow gold applied hour markers. The movement is a 11AC 17J with a L7 date code. This is the fourth Pelham for the database. Tentative ID based on crystal info.

Yes clearly the Pelham has a bevelled crystal as confirmed on the crystal package but in the photo the Gedney does not. On my watches the lugs are definitely the same as the lower watch but hard to tell on the upper. They do look more narrow and pointed as it merges into the case and also seem to bevelled or flaired out at the lug outer terminus. Based on the Gedney photo below it seems to me the only difference of my watch to this Gedney is the faceted cystal or am I missing something.

It is and we were lucky as Bulova just happen to have a 1957 edition. I'm currently seeking confirmation on how we can use that information here on myBulova.com
Jim, it's possible your watch has a replacement crystal.
[/quote] The picture is not my watch just one I found on the site for the Gedney. I have a non-faceted crystal on both of mine.
So, if I am seeing the photo correctly, case shape (Gedney vs Pelham) is basically the same, but the Pelham has a ribbed crystal and lug profile is slightly different?
If this is the case, I agree, subject watch is a Gedney sporting the nearly identical size Pelham crystal.
If that is the case, we need to re-evaluate the Pelhams in the Db. It does seem they are all the illusive Gedney.
Well done Stephen!
