A Clipper I would say, but I can't find a supporting advert or example.

Nice example of the Medal of Honor. Hands may not be original.

Welcome to myBulova!  I really like the lugs on this one and the those 50's numbers.  Nice ad find Ken, that looks like a match.

That's a first for the site, we don't even have the model in the drop down menu.

Thank you for the information.  You all are good! When I was a Boy Scout in the early 1970s I wore this watch while we were on a bike trip along the C&O Canal.  We found a rope swing that went out over the canal.  While on the swing I was pushed into the tree and blacked out and fell into the water.  I was fine, however the watch was not.  Because it was one my father’s first awards from State Farm, where he worked for 31 years, he took it to be repaired. Now that you mention it I’m pretty sure they did replace the hands.

It’s interesting to see that it came with an expansion band.  I am actually looking for a new band.  Although I would prefer leather.  Do any of you have any recommendations for one that might be appropriate?

Medal of Honor watch for Operation Flagship? It doesn't get any better than that! It's difficult but not impossible to find an original looking band. A nice leather strap in black or brown would look nice too, it really is personal preference.

I remember the Law Enforcement Operation Flagship noted on Wikipedia (I was a Redskins fan back then) - I believe it was in 1985. I think the reference on the watch was an insurance campaign. If you google "Operation Flagship State Farm Insurance", A bunch of 1955 trophy references pop up.

It will take more research, but it appears this watch was an award for sales "above and beyond the call of duty" so to speak, like the US medal it's named after.

My guess would be this was a first prize award to the top selling agents or agent of 1955, which is very cool. A lot better than a trophy! I don't think the choosing of a watch called "Medal of Honor" by State Farm was a coincidence.
