Watch Description

I bought this one not knowing the date code or serial # and thought it was Ramona.  After reading the threads on the Ramonas in the DB I do not think so.  Although I found ads for Ramona as late as 1931 it would seem this one is a Corinthia.  The date, case etching, and dial seem to fit it best.

Here is a little run down on this model and like models from another thread:  Earliest model called 6722, then Ramona but subsequently went though several name changes, Romola 1928, then Corinthia 1929, then Lenore 1930.  Between the Romola and Corinthia the Corinthia dial seems to match this watch.

The case is 14k gold filled with a 1928 serial #.  The movement is a working 15 jewel 6AP with a 1929 date stamp.  I installed a filigree band that seems to match the 1929 models well.  Let me know if I missed anything or if you agree.

Edited my post, had the wrong pic in last post before edit.

Saturday Evening Post, Dec. 15, 1928 issue  ROMOLA

The Saturday Evening Post ad being used for the Corinithia is Dec 15, 1929, and the newspaper ad is from Dec 19, 1929.

I thought dating watches by the case sn#. The subject watch sn# is 1928,  I have not seen a 1928 Corinthia ad.

My research for the Corinthia (cut corner shape) shows from 1929-1931. I have not found any ads from 1927-1928 for the Corinthia.

Romola seems more consist with year and the subject watch.

And then we have the 1929 Cornithia in a different shape.  1929 Corinthia in DB, image 28 of 30. In second ad,  the watch is the Fourth watch on the right.

The 1928 Lenore has a different case shape to the 1930 ad.  This 1929 Corinthia ad has the wider lugs like the 1930 Lenore and the other dial.  Seems there may have been two dial options.  I am leaning toward Alex's thought process that these were all the same model and name distinguished by year.  This would make it somewhat difficult with the overlapping advertising.  Still leaning toward Corinthia with the ads that match this watches dial.

Only advert matching the subject watch is this one, noting the case shape and dial minute track shape, is the below Corintha. Other adverts above show slight differences in the dial.

That was my thought, with the 3 1929 Corinthia ads in the DB that match this watch it seemed to be the best match.

I think I'll go along Corinthia as well.
