A 1969 Bulova Sea King Automatic Intermittently works, however, hopefully within the month I will have that resolved professionally serviced I want to wear this one! The Movement is 11 ANACB swiss unadjusted. I believe all it needs is a good service it looks pretty clean but it's probably pretty dry. I am a creature of habit I purchase this at a thrift store but this time it wasn't 10 or 20 bucks. I paid $40 for it but I really wanted it. Case Material Description Stainless Steel Case Dimensions 38.9mm x 32.8mm without crown Case Type
Screw back with retainer ring, cushion This watch just feels sturdy.
I wish there was a way to edit once you submit your watch. That first picture is just a concept. I forgot to mention the lugs are 17 mm for the 69 Sea king. A NATO strap will not fit through it. It is a very tight area where the pens are which is interesting. That first picture I wanted to see if I could squeezing and 18 mm NATO double strap so that's not a one-piece NATO and it's a no-go for that strap it is an 18mm two-piece NATO I got off Amazon for five bucks just to test it.
For the life of me, I don't understand why they do not make 17 mm NATO straps I've seen a couple 16 mm which is what I'm going to have to go with. I think a black NATO strap would look nice on this watch maybe one with a white stripe or silver.
I don't know why I'm telling everybody this as if these Sea kings are in the store and I'm helping salve a solution or to tell you not to waste money on an 18mm strap haha. I keep forgetting this is a 1969 watch but then again I am on a website dedicated to just that very thing haha.

In reply to Hi Bruce, If you have a by Kathy L.
Okay, thank you very much! I just forgot to add lug no biggie just small detail. I'm a fan of the NATO straps I like it too, however, I have to find it in 16 mm believe it or not that strap was super cheap and well-made but the trick they had on Amazon was just that strap if you clicked other straps of different colors it jumped up to 10 to 12 bucks lol it was like to catch your eye, like hey!! $5 over here hahaha.

Hi Bruce, once upon a time in a far off magical place, members of the site were nice and polite and used the site properly. Then one dark and stormy day the Wicked Witch of the West came along and spoilt everything for everyone else by REMOVING ALL her watch photos. On that horrible day, I was forced to stop members editing their watch entry once added, through fear of it happening again.
Alas you can still add updates to the watch either via the comments or by directly contacting a panel member and asking them to update the record. Preferrable ask me first as I'm more than happy to help.

Case wise it's a match for the Goldern Clipper, but the dial clearly indicates it's a Sea King.
However I'm not finding an advert match....so the search continues.

I found on https://www.watchophilia.com/photogallery/bulovas-1960-1969/a1969-sea-king/#! One that has where it says Sea king automatic but not all in black. I just find it unique that this one how it has a black glass finish on the name Bulova I think I just looks cool. Correct me if I'm wrong most sea kings have the lines a horizontal and vertical of that style? This one is just black. It does kind of have that 70's look but I'm okay with it I'm really happy I found this, is going to be restored first out of all of them and put in my rotation.

I suspect it is a Sea King, I'd be ok with that as a tentative ID.
That ink stamped number inside the case back is the case reference number and identifies all case furniture that go with it, the crystal, stem, bezel (if applicable). Supply and Mat houses still use this number to match parts for old watches, I recently was able to source an original Diver crystal this way. Said parts are getting scarce, but that's how you match them anyway...
