Watch Description

 I have tried to identify my little watch to no avail.  I have looked at the back of the movement until the back of my eyes are blury. I know most likely it is not worth much and I don't know if it is worth taking and having it gone over to made run but I sure love the look of it. Can you please help me.

I wouldn't underestimate the value of this Watch as it appears to be in very good condition.

Hinged American Standard Case, rarely seen and original Fuseaux style Hands - Mid 1920's is a good guess.

Can You make out the movement model number? it may help narrow the age range possibilities and will appear in a rectangle.

 Hello FifthAvenueRest,

I got out my magnifying glass and under a bright light I was able to find a 10 in a rectangle.   On the movement this is what I found; 15 jewels Bulova W. Co AAI 3 adjustments swiss.  There is another small symbol that is very faint and no matter how hard I stare I can't make it out.  I hope this is enough for you to help.  Again thank you so much.

In the prior discussion did We determine the movement to be the 10AA ?

The movement is a AAI not 10AA which puts it about 1922/23.

Katherine, can you please add a photo of the movement of possible.

Also, does the watch wind? If not and it seems fully wound, does the balance wheel swing at all when you swivel the watch?

Admin are you sure about the AAI vs other movement possibilities?  Owner mentions a 10 in a rectangle.

Another early one to ponder over. Possibly 1921 from the case SN. Also has the Bulova W. Co. stamp.

drkatherine1 PM'ed me, and has some updated photos they will be providing.  Thanks DrKatherine1 !

EDIT:  She emailed saying "I just found my loop and was looking at the movement and found the number 10 inscribed inside a box.  However it is not shaped like a square box because it is narrower at the top.  Then across the movement is printed AAI.  I can't get a close enough photo of it with my iPhone". 

Is there such a thing as a 10AAI movement?  I don't see one in the movement database. There's a 10AA and a 10AI in this time period.

Ask her to put the loupe up against the camera lens on her I-Phone, and it will take better close-up pictures, Will.

The 10 and AAI more than likely be in different spots on the movement. We often see that little trapezoid shape with a number on the main plate of a watch.

I'm emailing the watch owner some representative movement pictures from that period.  She can let me know which on most closely resembles her movement. Thanks DrKatherine! I think it's gonna be a 10AAI.
