Hmmmm, Please be aware that newspaper ads are plagued by mistakes. The Few ads above identified Bulova “Sports” clearly indicates the brand “Fontain” in the dial, so definitively is not a valid identification. Cross checks are needed!u

We are aware... there are many many watches that are mistakenly identified in ads in the thousands of newspaper ads I look at.

1926 The smallest watch in the world as presented to Queen Marie of Rumania and awarded to Miss America beauty contest of 1926.

The watch was so small (size of a penny) that to wind it, you rotated the entire back case which was directly connected to the mainspring. The hairspring is said to have been one third the thickness of a normal spring.

1926 Bulova smallest watch in the world.

...and the watch in question which was valued at $1000 (equivalent to $14,200 today)

This ad has me thinking.   It states this has gold numerals and enameled.  I have also seen ads for the Brewster saying it has a Radium dial.  It is possible the Brewster is engraved with Radium dial and Airman is Enameld with gold numerals?   I do not see the Airman name in the database.

Globe-Gazette (Mason City, Iowa) · 5 Jun 1929

1929 Airman ?

Wow, just saw this. Very interesting and the first time we have sen this model name. I'd say the enamel is inlaid in the case front bezel side and top.

I think we have a new model on our hands.

I liked it because I loved Princess Diana. I have several dolls of Princess Diana.

This watch is the No.6716-S which turned into the Lady Diana.

Wonderful new advert.

Any thoughts on why part of the text is missing?

See 'The RINCE of ALES'

The Leader also looks like the Banker. I wonder if this is correct or an auto correction/OCR error.
