Case is 10K Y RGP with stainless steel back, case number 2520, dated M7; dial is a gold color with black Roman Numeral markers and black hands; movement is a Swiss-made 11ALCD, manual-wind 17-jewel, dated M8; has the original expansion band that matches the ads.
Set of ads from 1967/1968. The Date King line looks to have come to an end by the late 60s, and I do not find this particular model in other lines. This design in automatic form is also seen in the Clipper line.
We don't see too many Bulovas with Roman Dials. The font is unique, I like it a lot, kind of mid century. By the way, another fabulous restoration. Nice work Ken, a true Bulova classic.
Nothing has been done to the dial, Rob. It appears to be a well preserved original. I would think the lume has aged some, but the color of it works great with the hands and dial color.
I believe this one should be re-classified as a Date King NP Based on the fact that the dial is golden color. The 1967 line book listing shows the guilt dial as the variant NP. I recently acquired one with a bright silver dial and believe that is NO.
