Crystal size??? (.985, 10.5, 11.1, 11.4, 12.6, or 15.9mm square, perhaps???)

SQUARE: (S)

09.85mm = Olga

10.5mm = Christine

11.1mm =

Military Square (MS)

12.2mm = Catherine or Marie

Then it's either the "CATHERINE," or the "MARIE..." IF the vertical sides are slightly, CURVED??? (i.e. "MS" or "Military," "Square," vs. "Square.." which would be FLAT vs. CURVED on all four ides, in such a case...  (PUNN INTENDED...) At a glance, the four (perimeter) sides all appear FLAT, however???

Not sure (Stephen) WHY I can't edit my first reply, above??? (As I wasn't finished...) 

On second thought, this is the HIGH END (solid 14 karat, with diamonds and rubies) model... and therefore is not likely listed (by namesake) in the 1942 BB glass crystal catalog? Which would most likely "name" only the HIGHEST production models, with such limited space and lesser demand, for ltd. editions???)

They appear to be flat rather than slightly curved, perhaps it is a model that will only be found when an advert pops up. Would it be likely that one of the glass crystal companies would have made this or again could it be the case that as it was not common they wouldn't have made it?

And no mention of a Lady B from 1941/2/3 in G-S, SUC, or Perfit or BB catalogs, taking a 12.1 or 12.2mm w/FLAT square, proportions... So certainly NOT very "common..." And likely then only around -1 to perhaps 3% of that design (case style) sported that movement, with those stones, in solid 14 karat gold??? Therefore I'd classify it as "RARE," vs. "SCARCE?" (Just a "hunch??" :-)

Is it possible the rubies and diamond lugs are add-ons?

It does resemble the Christine, just without the additional gemmed lugs.

It still amazes me that in a solid gold case, Bulova uses a 15 jewel movement when the 21 and 23 jewel womens movements were fairly common in the late 40's and 50's.

 

Mrs. Daca has acquired 3 of the gold and jeweled watches and all have the 17 jewel movement.
