The case back, in a small circle, says "STAINLESS" The watch face says GERMANY on the bottom below the 6 marker. Below the 12 marker it says Bulova and Wrist Alarm. It looks alot like the '72 but the markers are different. It does have 3 crowns time set/wind (powers both both movement and alarm), alarm set (top) and alarm On/Off (bottom) Any ideas as to movement, jewels, year, signatures? Thanks!! Does the back of the watch look like its missing an outer lid or snapon case back?
I'd still expect to see some level of Bulova branding on the case.
Looking at this version there seems to be an outter case that might act as the alarm bell.
The 1972 model has 3 "crowns" all the others have 2 "crowns" as best I could find on this site searching for "Wrist Alarm" a 1972. The picture displayed is almost identical to this watch except for the text unther the numera 6. So I thought it was from the 70's but the previous owner said it was from the 50's.
I don't know how to open the case - the previous owner said it was 17 jewels with a 12-B caliber movement and that it was from the 50's.

12B is the Junghans 689/J89 movement, made especially for Bulova. (1951-1958) That might explain the 'Germany' on the dial, but I don't recall having ever seen that before...
Later Wrist alarms have the 11AERC, and 11AURCD.
Just a thought- Given the lack of Bulova markings on the case back also, ( I do see the small Bulova name next to the back) maybe the chapter ring is separate from the dial? That is, maybe the Bulova dial and movt are in a larger case, and the outer silver chapter ring takes up the space? Which would point to a re-cased watch. This would also necessitate a longer stem and pushers, but not impossible. We're gonna have to see the inside of this one, if possible. I suspect it is an early Wrist Alarm.
UPDATE: There is an identical watch right now (you-know-where) with exactly the same layout, same case back, everything, and pics of the 12B movt, so this appears to be all correct.
Wow don't know where you got those pics from but that's IDENTICAL to my watch.
"BULOVA" on the side of the case with "10K Rolled Gold Plate" on the other side of the case back - quite honestly I didn't see those markings on my watch until you posted the pics above then I compared and found them.
So now I know what the movement is and a 8 year date period for production.
Is there anyway to ID the exact year of production?
Can you advise how to open the case?
