I have not fully opened the case ie removed the movement and such but it appears as if the hands were lumed, light off white powdery finish probably radium degenerated paint, dont want to breath any more powdered radiation into my lungs, Uncle Sam gave me enough already.

Well Gents, I don't want to say much here as my knowledge of military watches is practically nill. I will comment however that I have a 1943 Bulova Military watch with a bare caseback bearing only a serial # 005901 and the movement is a 15 Jewel hacking type with sweep seconds. Thing is it's only marked 10AK for the model #. Kinda strange, no??

Shawn  I'm not questioning if your example is a "Military Watch" but are you thinking it's a Military Issued watch w/ those case markings, or simply "identical to those issued"?

Yes, the Military issue 10AK hacking Movements were/are 16 Jewels: 10AKCSH

C = Center seconds

H = Hacking

Not 100% certain what the 'S' stands for, service? sweep?

The sub Second Dialed 'ORD DEPT' Watches (Bulova model 10AK's) were/are non-hacking 15J 10AK.

Center, Sweep,Hacking I believe. My movement is definately a center,sweep hacking movement but stamped only 10AK, 15 Jewels, an early prototype perhaps? What do you think, possible,maybe.

I'd post pics of the movement but for some reason I can't do so in these forums.

I have one of these serial is 3257917, the dial isn't whit or black it's silver.

I do have a question, where can I get spare parts the movement needs a new balance staff

Entire replacement balances are readily available for the 10AK.  They didn't train the military watchmakers to change balance staffs,  so there are a boatload of surplus complete balances out there.  Check on EBay.  They go for $10-$15 singly.
