I just found that one and was about to post it. You guys are GOOD!!!

Anita was the top-of-the-line ladies' model for that period, it seems. $195 was a boat load for a cocktail party trinket!

Over $2000.00 in today's money and at the time, more expensive than a Rolex.

Anita for me as well.

Twenty-plus years later the initial price of this 1947 Anita was still more costly than a steel Omega Speedmaster. I did some research years ago on a rare 18k Speedy and I published this info:

"...In 1970 the suggested retail price of the 18k Speedmaster offered to the public was 3,917 Swiss francs (approx. $1,340 at the time, compared with $185 for the standard steel model). ."

My wife does not wear this anymore and has decided to sell it, to fund the servicing of the automatic she does wear.
This watch is for sale, though I'm not sure what price to ask. It was $195 new, so I'll start there and see if any acceptable offers come in.

Cheers,
Brad
