Watch Description

Watch was my Grandfather's who has passed away. It works well other than it needs a crystal and some paint on the second hand. It would be great if someone could let me know what size and type of crystal it needs. Thanks

Do we have a generic Date & Day category for non-Accutrons

Pretty sure we don't.  It would be such a broad inclusive "category", and I think non-accutron ads (always?) use "Day & Date" to describe watch function vs part of a model name.

We have been working on an ID for this watch for a while. We learn that way...
By the time we agree on some ID, they may have invented a time machine (or a new ad will surface).
In the mean time, here's a summary of votes to date.  If we get it wrong, we can always change it then.

Unknown: Will, Andersok, Geoff.

Thoughts/votes from others?

Remember you don't have to be a panel member to help us with the ID. We panel members listen to comments from all MyBulova members before we vote on an ID.  A minority opinion, when backed up with some data, has often swayed the vote to what's tentatively a correct ID for now. Collectively, we can ID based on what we know at the time, and update when we know more.

New crystal, band and oiled up.

Nice to be able to wear the watch again, it looks good.

Looks great Cliff, good for another lifetime of service. Don't forget to have it serviced every couple years.

Thanks Geoff.

I got a few questions regarding this watch.

Is it possible to wind it to much?

If the watch is fully wound and sitting on my desk, how long should it run for?

I noticed after about 3 days it looses around a minute. I'm guessing thats from not properly winding it and not wearing it all the time.

Thanks

Cliff, until one of our expert watchmakers chimes in I'll give you a layman answer. It is not possible to over wind this watch. In my experience it will run 40-50 hours on a wind, perhaps a bit more when 'fully wound' and not worn. A kinetic or self winding watch really wants to be worn everyday but if you don't it really isn't a problem. 20 seconds a day (or a minute over three) is well within the range of accuracy for this movement. This is a good watch, it should give you years and years of continuing service. Depending on your wearing conditions you should have is serviced every couple years at a minimum.

I believe this is the watch from the 1976 Line Book DBAWD0200 Page 7 of 301.  The ad says a blue dial and the subject watch looks blue to me.  Unfortunately no name just model number 11667W.1976 Model 11667W
