In reply to Case and dial, although by FifthAvenueRes…
Although we are greatful for the ads. Fine detailing in the advertizements cannot be trusted. In 1928 the Executive and the Senator models were exactly the same. The only difference was that the Senator did not have engraving on the top & bottom bezel. Holding a 1928 Senator in my hand sure proves that Stephens 1928 Executive is authentic. Again, please don't trust the old ads for fine details. Thanks.

I have to agree with Wayne, Bulova were shocking with their as. Once upon a time I thought it was just the 1920s that were bad for detail now I think its most pre 1950s.
A prime example of ad design not matching the actual watch is the 1927 Lone Eagle.

I have been researching the 1925 to 1928 Executive vs the 1926 thru 1930 Senator. The ads have troubled me for a long time because of lack of clarity & detail. I finally acquired an Executive that has a different design on the case than your Executive. I believe your 1928 Executive is a 1928 Senator. The trouble with the Senator ads was that they never depicted the the 3 squared in flowers on each side of the bezel. The Executive I acquired does reflect the Executive ads in that the adds do depict one flower on each side of the bezel unboxed. The Executive case is smaller & measures approx 24.5mm W x 24.5mm L (measured square, no lugs involved). Both of my Senators measure approx 26.4 W x 26.4 L Measured square no lugs involved. The dial measurements on the Executive are approx 20mm W x 20mm L . The dial measurement on my Senators is approx 22mm W x 22mm L.
I also have the Senator with the slick top & bottom bezel bars. Measuring yours should be proof.
I appologize to Mark for giving him wrong info early in this string.

I also would like to make a correction. The ad showing the 1928 Revere, I mistook for a Senator model with slick top & bottom bezels. The correction is the 1928 Senator is engraved on all four sides of the bezel. I had a Revere and didn't even know it. Because I just couldn't decipher the correct name of the watch in the ad. The Revere has the same engraving on the vertical bezels as the Senator in 1928. Bulovas are a constant learning experience.
What do you think is the model of a watch similar to a Senator, with the same etched pattern on the bezel (three "flowers" in the center on each of the four sides, lines between then on the sides, and with the wheat pattern all around), etched on the sides of the case, and etched in a square pattern on the case back cover? I could have sworn I saw one on the site....but don't see one now. Mine has a 1924 patent date, and a serial number starting with an "8" and a 10P movement. Exactly the same as the Senator except the additional etchings (unless no one is showing or commenting on the sides and bottom etchings on this wacth. I guess I need re-photograph mine and post it for comments.
