I would like to find out the model name and if there were any advertisement for this watch.

Can you please confirm the movement date code. L9 = 1959 whilst L0 = 1950, so there is a 10 year difference between the movement and case. Let us know so we can start to narrow down our search.

Thinking it's an Academy Award model. 'C' variant but it should have a 21 jeweled movement which might explain the L9 if it has had a movement swap.

The Movement says:

Swiss L9

Also it is marked 17 "Seventeen" Jewels

The case is the original

Also - It physically looks like the Acdemy Awatd B - but is 14K instead on 10, has diamonds, 17 Jewels and 6BM works - could it have had the works changed but the face the same?  And if that wer ethe case then why the 14K instead on 10K?

I wish I knew more about these older watches.

Great ad find!

Is it on site?

Based on the ad showing yellow gold for the "C", this watch appears to be Academy Award "G"; the only other model with matching crystal in solid gold priced at $115.
