Err, eerrrm, uhmm, Brigadier, maybe?

Nice one jabs! Love the inscription, I can't understand anyone NOT liking vintage watches with them!

Bob.

I'm thinking it's from 1951 for some reason :-)

Looks nice and crisp as well. Brigadier works for me

It does look just like the Brigadier ad from 1951....but also similar to the Douglas ads from time period.   I'm looking for some of these ads now.
Here's Admin's watch record (albiet short on photos and info) of what is currently ID'ed as a 1951 Douglas.

This ad from 1948 is for the Brigadier. We also have several ads in the part 1940-49 ads from 1949 for the Brigadier. Any ads for the Douglas from 1948-on will be old stock ads selling older models, as the Brigadier ads for the new name from 1948-on are new stock.

To summarize, pre-48 = Douglas, post 47 = Brigadier or Ambassador, depending on the bracelet as shown in the second 1949 ad.

1948 ad.

1949 ad.

Lucky guy this Bud fellow. I go along witht the date theory, I say it's a Brigadier. I'd also say the band look original.
