I wish we had a little more info on how the start date for 7AK is entered as 1936.  I'm thinking 1945 is a better start date for this movement.  I'll check Ranfft and/or Lisa's movement database.

Here ya go.

With the 1935 example (possibly) that Jim Townsend has in his 1935-cased watch, that is now up-to-date, and not a 1945 start!

I'd still like to see an 7AK another more solid example pre-1945, as Jim's may be a marriage.  I think Dr simply made a mistake on this start date, and Lisa used his info for her movement date table.  Neither MyBulova nor Lisa have a pre-1945 example watch record.  I've never seen one that I can believe based on the case in which it is persented.

I think you are correct with a start date around 1945 Mr. Smith. Somebody at some time had one with a "square" date symbol on it and called it a 1936 movement instead of a 1946 movement and it was taken as the gospel. You would be surprised how fast incorrect information can travel on this internet thing. As an example, I found Jerry Lee Lewis's first new car in Bowman Georgia about 12 years ago and took some pictures of it. I saw the documentation proving it was his, but I didn't photograph it or anything. I posted the pictures I took on an internet gun site. About 6 months ago I was surfing the web and came across my pictures posted by someone that is a total stranger to me on the official Jerry Lee Lewis site. They were my pictures that he was taking credit for without even contacting me. I know they are legit, but whoever posted them didn't.

edit: I meant for this to show up as a reply. Can't seem to change it now.
