Right down to the matching orininal band as pictured in the ad!  Or it looks like it to me.
Edit: maybe original, but I'm noting the band in the ad pic is "criss-cross" pattern.
Now what do we name the watch?

1969 Accutron 214 model 417
   or
1969 Accutron 417         ?
I think we are still using the first example above, and entering the model number in the "variant" box, but that's being discussed.

Ummm, Err, Accutron "417"?

Just like it says on the tin.

There is the correct way like Bulova did it in their ads & price sheets, and then there is the incorrect way that we and many other Accutron sites have been doing...anyone else want to get in the back seat as they continue going the wrong way towards the cliff?

My vote is Accutron 417

John  That's a good vote, but not quite a "choice" yet, as the current system uses the movement series numbers.  We are discussion using that naming system vs the current Accutron naming system.

the subject does not match the ad.

The Hands differ, as do the Hour makers and register.

Close.

Greg,

a much better likeness than the black and white display ad.

"ACCUTRON Series 214"

model # 417

Also, OT's dial reads "Bulova Accutron". I'm not really up on the Accutrons but didn't Bulova drop the Bulova from the Accutron dials at some point?
