I knew I was thinking 10 k gold filled for a reason.  ... and it's got that BULOVA signature along the case back edge like Plains' example.  I'll photo and add.  The small "shield shaped" insignia which occurs adjacent to Plains' example is absent on this watch.

JP  If you take the gold filled into account, I don't think there's an ad for that- but what that means on the ID?  I don't know.

1934 Ad for gold filled:

1935 ad for gold filled:

We see a Sears 1935 ad Natural Gold plate for same watch. And another 1935 Gold Filled , both in 15 jewels. By 1936 there are ads for a 17 jewel version, but only in natural gold plate.
This Ambassador (in gold fill or gold plate) dissapears from the ads after 1937.

I have the White Gold version and IMO this is an Ambassador and I vote as such.

I'd be happy with an Ambassador call based on the unique case design.

1934 ad here for the dial, but diffent colour so maybe Will's is a re-dial? Looking at the un-numbered sub-dial I would say it is.

EDIT: I would say the inner case seven-digit number is the case s/n, as most of the s/n's, if not all are seven digits, so1934 case s/n.

'AMBASSADOR'

The subject Dial style is shown and found in several different Models from the early to mid/late 1930's.
