Yeah alright I'm fine with unknown, but you can't just make up a watch because we don't have an ad.
Welcome to the "Frank Lloyd Wright" watch part deux! Oh you remember Mark, when you were so adamant you wanted the name of the Burkshire changed to the FTW for weeks because that HAD to be the name?
Same thing here.... can't just make stuff up.
I'm done.
The model lists show one Ranger model number through all dates of available model lists (Jan 1954 through Fall 1964). The lists also show three "Banker" variants. The lists don't show all model produced, but may only list those models still "for sale" by Bulova or their distributors at date of list.
It is unclear if these listed Banker models are referring to the Banker seires of the late 1930's, or that one "round" Banker of mid 1930's, or the later tonneau unengraved Banker. I think they refer to the most recent series of Bankers (1938-42?). I have no idea if the Ranger in the model list refers to the earlier tonneau model, the possible subject watch model, or the latter tonneau non-stepped Ranger of Ranger/Lieutenant fame (1942 and a few years forward).
Will, at my last count we have 7 panel members voting unknown, best to leave it at that for now. Mark has made some good points and the subject watch looks nothing like the 38 Ranger in the ad Mark's posted in this discussion but, even Jerin has agreed, without an ad we cannot speculate or re-invent the possibility of an ID without an ad showing the subject watch. Mark could very well be right that the subject watch is a Banker variant, and since we see Banker variants in the price list, Hmmm, is one engraved? Until we see some proof, It's still an Unknown to me.
