Shawn I'm not saying it's a Banker.  I'm not trying to figure out a variant.  IMO It's an unknown.  I'm just listing some info that may be useful to folks as we address watches similar to this in the future (or already in the database).  Plains has studied the Ranger much more than I, and I don't want to miss anything- any possible useful tidbit of info.  He's looked at this one for a while now-closely.  There's reasons he thought this one's a Ranger.  Heck- It looks like he found over half of the Ranger ads in the database.  I'm simply listing some info related to the topic.  :)

This is a small detail-in the side by sides with the other watches in DB, the round subsecond track is different.

Well spotted, Rob. All the other watches from the DB shown on page three of this post, shown side by side with subject all have recessed sub second dials, subject does not.

For the record, I'm going with Banker variant.....but for now its an 'unknown' until we find an advert to prove one way of the other.

My 'Banker' call is base purely on the year of manufacture. Both the movement and case are date 1938.

I have no doubt that one day we will ID this sucker!

Don't forget guys....this is all part of the fun.....AND .....everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

after hearing good arguments from the minority, I'm gonna switch from unknown to
Banker w/ one tick for unconfirmed
