I think my comment has been  taken out of context. By cold, hard facts I meant the facts in the DB concerning the designation letters for Senator watches in 1955 according to the ads.

You want evidence to prove my statement, yet provide none for your own statement, "According to this advert the watch is actually a "Champion", although I'm not sure what is meant by 'plain case'.".

I will "assume" a plain case is just that, without any embellishment i.e. grooves, engraving or other adornments, as we are all working on assumptions and guesses, but some seem to take these as facts.

I'm not around for a couple days, but am here in spirit, and checking in while I can.  Good discussions!!

But no comments, Will. Very strange, but not entirely unexpected...Why no reply to my comments on page two of this post, has it been missed out?

Stephen, you made a statement earlier in this post about "a band making a difference in this case", then when I refuted this comment you made a point of belittling me in the eyes of all the members. Now when proof is provided to back my statement, you are conspicuous by your absence. Sorry, but I take it personally when someone tries to make me look foolish in public.
Bob.

Bob, aplologies if you feel that I have belitteled you, it certainly wasn't my intention. I'm simply trying to point out that we have seen a number of examples now were a variant or model change has been listed/grouped under one watch advert. I was a little put back by your bold statement that it wasn't a Champion without presenting any evidence to back the statement up. You have since, so lets move on.

I've put 2 ticks on this watch as presented as a Senator "A". I'd give it 3 ticks if the leather band was removed for a Senator.

Again, sorry for any misunderstanding my tone or comments caused you. This is meant to be a fun, education site, however it seems of late  that the site has become a battle ground of opinions and personanlities. Not good.

True that, and let's forget about it. This does not change the fact that all the data points to the subject watch being a Senator"A" because of case shape and not on band style, and if I come across strongly on this matter, it is only a reply to the forceful way others have shoved unproved opinions in this matter down mine and everyone elses throats.
Thanks for your kind words Stephen, and let's get on with the fun!
Bob.
