Watch Description

There's not to many of this "FF" model out there and in fact only two in our database.  This watch was recently redone in a black dial with blued hands and lumi numbers.  The pictures don't do it justice.  It's a very classy men's watch with an evening feel.

Plainsmen,

The ad shows the 'HIS EXCELLENCY' 'FF' variant as having a White Dial with Black print.

How can the 'FF' also be Black Dialed with radium numerals???  Please explain.

It's obviously a redial and I know you understand this.

Oh... cause I hadn't seen it before.  You shed new light on the matter Greg... very nice!    Looks to be around the same set of years as well from the look of your case in the background there.

1948, and the Surgeon I have is a '51, so they were still lighting them up from the factory.

Gentlemen, It's no redial. We just haven't seen it in an ad. This seems to follow the Radio City and Black hawk, General etc., theme. I think that would look alot better with these hands.

I agree with Mark. Without an ad supporting that dial/case combination it's a HE with no variant.

As with the:

'GENERAL' / 'PRESIDENT'

'SENATOR' / 'RADIO CITY' / 'BLACKOUT'

and Gregs 'UNKNOWN' of the same era this is either an 'EXCELLENCY' with a Dial swap or an 'UNKNOWN' model.

Does the case in the "FF" ad and subject watch occur in other His Excellency model variants?  We don't have text in ad above stating what constitutes an "FF" so I though in these instances the subject had to match the ad exactly to get confirmed ID due to lack of this info. 

If subject watch case was also seen in models other than His Excellency, then maybe an "unknown". But if only in His Excellency- (and perhaps only in the "FF" ad), then I'd say two stars.  If listed as His Excellency w/o variant- I'm on the fence but open to discussion.

We know the answers to some of these questions; it's more an example of the procedures for these ID's that I'm thinking about....
