Do we know if the hinge is broken? Most 20 and early 30s Bulova had a hinged back case.

Ok so its safe to say its certainly a Bulova case (just wanted to check as I've seen variuos watch companies use very simialar designs).

The mystery continues.

I wonder......

1940 Westfield Husdon

I know, I know...its a Westfield and they are banned from this site....well sort of. But I found this in one of the recent vintage Bulova ads added to the site (thanks to Plains)

I wonder if they marked these cases Bulova or Westfield...or something else.

Stephen,

Closer investigation reveals that the case should be hinged. The holes are there in the case back and in the bezel, no hinge rod. I need to repair that!

Case admittidly looks similar to the case in the ad, but let's not go there. : )

* hinge points visible at far left leading edge of bezel, right leading edge of caseback.

No denying the Case's similarrity to the Lone Eagle III. I'm also noting the case carvings similarity to the 1930 President and 1930 Sky King, both unique. - This case carries an identical pattern, mnus one X. Also to mention the Yellow Gold construction, why, when all others are White base Sterling or White Gold?

There's a watch out there named 'round The World':  http://www.mybulova.com/watches/1931-around-world-579

Has anyone seen one?

Your case has inherited the exact vertical IX pattern from the beautiful 1928-30 Lone Eagle series II. You certainly may have a first run watch case. We know it's rare, if anyone has ever seen this case design on a 1931 Bulova, please let myBulova.com know. The designers left the omega symbols off the horizontal bezel just to keep you thinking. Stay with Lone Eagle, don't go around the world.

Hey All,

I'm with Wayne on the 21 Jewels, I've never seen any watch from the twenties with 21 Jewels. Most have a 10AN 15J adjusted and as Wayne says also the 9AT 15J.

regards, Shawn
