Hi
We beat this one up pretty good a few years ago- but I don't remember the outcome, and I had not opened it up at that time. The old "thread" musta dissapeared when admin updated website a couple years ago.
I swear the moonphase index was indexing when I first got this. Now I'm pretty sure I'm just forgetful.
Since then, the index hand has fallen off and slipped btwn the moonphase "dial" (which I thought also turned every 24 hours).
Now that I opened it, the movement just aint showing any of this to me. Inside case back looks like it's been acid blurred and brushed...so it's not my photo. The case back may be the only thing remarkable on this beast.
Three 3818A's in the database. Case back on this one has a lower SN (A5374) than those three. The BULOVA stamp on the bridge almost looks "fake" or not as clean when I look closly w/ loop. Inconsistency btwn bridges etc.... Even w/ spacing ring in case, the movment has well....to much movement. And don't ask me how...but the day/night is advancing slowly over the last couple of hours. Maybe I shock it a little and the thing just turned a little w/o me noticing at the time. I think somebody had a box full of watch parts and put this one together. But at least the case back is consistent w/ others.

It's amusing to me that someone would go to that much trouble to piece together something like this. They musta been really bored or really needed a watch. It couldn't have been profite motive....I think I paid $25 for it over the internet just to see for myself. I think the only thing Bulova about it is that it has the name in a few places. ....and that's probably a copyright infringment. Hehehe The thing is keeping time for the six hours.....and the day/night has advanced about a quarter of a turn in the that time. Someone had fun!
