I have one marked 48, presumably the date code for 1948.  Is this the earliest Bulova automatic?

The earliest Bulova autos appear around the time as other brand's forays into the complication. The earliest one I have ever seen is the pendule style 13AP, based on the Champagne 28-20 from the early 30's. Champagne did 'Wig Wag' autos before this. Here is the link:
