Watch Description

I have been left a gold Bulova watch which is old but in very good condition and i do not know what it is.

Year model anything would be nice.

I would never use it myself.

It has a gold band.

I was told it was the first Accutron with a mercury battery although it is not a mercury battery inside now, this was fitted after a service about 5 years ago.

The info i have given is all the info I have got by myself on my part as i do not know anything about these watches I may have given wrong answers to your questionare

Thank you in advance.

A very nice watch. You will need to have it serviced and the battery replaced, but it is worth spending the money as it is a terrific piece of your heritage and should be treasured.

Hello Nemis, welcome to myBulova. This is a second generation Accutron (218) from Bulova. The first generation (214) did not have a winding stem, this gen has it at the four o'clock position, which makes it instantly recognizable as an Accutron. Accutron was incredibly popular throughout the 1960's and early 70's as they were so different than any watches that came before them.

Some Accutron watches had model names , some just had model number designations. We will name this watch Accutron Calendar. Thanks for sharing it, it's very nice.

Nemis - we do not give appraisals as there are too many variables. We often suggest researching on-line auction sites as they can be, (but not always are) an indicator of value.
