Watch Description

Hello Panel members, I have owned this watch for a couple of years now and would like to know if anyone could tell me what model we have here? I assume the movement is 1969-70 but can not locate the model. The case is a nice unusual brushed matt 40 micron plate which suits the dial. The crown is signed Bulova as opposed to having the symbol. One of the best and smoothest running watches I have ever owned. Hope you can help.

Best regards - Clark Innes

Hi Albaroot, welcome back. I've searched everything we have but don't see any advert matches to this one, it certainly looks like a fine watch. I'm curious to know where you live, or perhaps more accurately where you acquired this watch. It seems that watches with this style back were made somewhere other than the states. It's a hunch I have, really nothing more than that at this point.

Albaroot, can you confirm the two date codes. One on the movements and one on the case. I'm not sure if the case says M9 or N9.

Hi there, the date code is M9. I live in Scotland and purchased the watch some years ago from England. Hope this helps.

Thanks Clark, although Bulova is based in the states they made watches in many different places around the world. My theory has always been that watches with this case back (stylized Goddess of Time) were not made or sold in the US. As I stated before, I only have a hunch with no real basis for my theory.

Thanks for confirmation of the date code too.

Thanks Geoff,
The other model I owned had a similar case back with an even better embossed depiction of the Godess. Probably why I purchased it as I love interesting case backs. Much appreciated comments.

The watch appears to be similar to the one in this ad:

Ad location is uncertain, possibly Europe.

Possibly model 351101

Thanks Andersok, this is great, it looks like the very chap and it could easily have originated in France. Great job!
