What is the date mark on the movement please? Any sizes, i.e. case diameter, crystal diameter?

Date code on movement is M-9, case diameter is 32.5mm, crystal diameter is 28.2.

Thanks Gary. That's a early gold plated movement, could be a Clipper, Sea King or Jet Clipper.

Thanks Bobbee, I picked this up on eBay, needed a crystal. Since I'm new to wristwatches, the whale dial sort of caught my eye. Do the named models represent a better quality watch, or was this a marketing program?

Named and variants of those names make it easier to find the watch you want, and is less impersonal than a number, so I would say marketing, Gary.

I agree with the Sea King call.

Will, I just checked the bottom ad link above for the Clipper
"A", same pic used for both ads, 1967 and 1969.

Now what? Do we just go with the nearest year?
