Stainless steel case, no knowledge of service, refurbishment or replacement of parts. M9 case and N3 movement suggest possible Frankenwatch?
Hi there,
I've come across this Bulova. The case reads M9 but the movement is N3, so I'm not sure if it's all original. The whale on the face leads me to think Sea King or Golden Clipper but I haven't been able to find any with similar dials or cases.
Any help identifying would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Hello stuperdude, welcome to myBulova. Normally we might question a four year spread between case and movement dates but I wouldn't dismiss your watch out of hand. We refer to watches assembled using components from different models as "Non-Conforming" meaning they can't be identified as a particular model. While four years is a stretch, it's still a possibility. I agree that the whale indicates a possible Sea King or Clipper model but I cannot find an exact match.
