Watch Description

I was just gifted this fine watch from my father for Christmas. Did some digging and found all the information listed here. His father, my grandfather, bought it for him for his high school graduation, as a gift for completeing school. This was purchased brand new when my father graduated in 1960. He is the original owner and now I am the second owner. Never new he had this watch. It is still in the original case box (as pictured). He wore it rarely before he was drafted into the Army in 1965. Has not worn it since. After a few shakes, the second hand began tracking. Gave a few more shakes and observed over an hour that it kept time along with my Swiss Army quartz watch. Still amazed that it did so.

My father was quite a skinny kid, so at the time he had some links removed (the expandable) to fit his wrist. He kept the links in a separate place. He has yet to locate them, but swears he has them. I of course have bigger wrists and can not, at this time, wear the watch. If anyone out there has some information that can lead me in the right direction to aquire some extra links (and where to go to have them installed) that would be a great help. I have included a picture of the links from the inside as reference. I have seen similar links from the outside, but when I look from the inside, completely different design.

This is my first Bulova. Love it and after looking at hte website, this is not going to be my last. Now I'm trying to decide which one to add to my collection.

What a nice watch to be gifted by your dad. This would have been the Bulova 30 "BW" back in 1960.

As for the band size, it should be possible to add links back in. It may also be possible to replace the entire center expanding section to a larger one (from a donor band).

I have thought that a well, replacing the middle section. I have looked and cannot find one that would match the main sections. Also,  that expandable section is so unique. Have not seen anything like those links, the "bolt" design.

Will keep my eyes open for possibilities.

1960 Bulova 30 "BW" is a good match.  Great to see it with the original bracelet.
