Gary, how did you ID this as the Betsy Ross? In the 1954 ads the only Betsy Ross I could find didn't look  like yours. Totally different bezel.

 Hi.

I was told by the original purchaser of the watch that the box they no longer have had the Betsy Ross name inside (where the other info came from too, I had no idea who Betsy Ross was being British and all).  I dug deeper and looked up the crystal specs to see if it could match, as it has the original glass crystal which is very unique.  I found it in the G-S catalogues and it was also named Betsy Ross in there. Could I have put a firm 2 + 2 together and fallen short?  An advert showing this watch would be nice to confirm or otherwise.

Reasonable deduction. The only thing I have concerns with is that I have the same watch that you have and after months of research I could only come up with my watch was one of the "As yet Un-identified" series of Bulova's "Diamond Series" of watches. As to the crystal specs, I've also found with the Ladies Watches, quite a few use the same crystal specs due to bezel dimensions. Without the needed confirming  ads or any other related material I think we are on that proverbial "slippery slope" ...

It looks like the 1954 Goddess of Time, which can be seen in the second 1954 ad, top row, #23.  Although if simpletreasures has done months of research, I don't suppose it could be or he would have identified it as such.  But it sure looks similar to me...

Close, but no cigar ;-)  Diamond settings different and face is all numbers. Gary's  settings are different (like mine) and face has alternating numbers. Again, without some sort of documentation, still a mystery...

I would usually agree re the crystal but I have never seen another ladies bulova with the crystal that is square but has fancy shaved sides which create the barrel style top to envelop the hour markers. Hopfully an advert will come in time...(although I can still not view any on here either my PC or Laptop, damned red dot)

Good work. even shows the crystal, which is obviously not exclusive to the Betsy Ross then. Goes to show you cannot rely on what has been told or crystal catalogues as we have already discussed....if I could have seen the damn adverts I would have been able to find it. Still not idea what is wrong with my computers.

Yes, believe me I have tried everything. Even changes security providers and switched it all off. Why it should suddenly happen to my Laptop is beyond my knowledge of computers. I even system restored to 6 months back when i could view them....still didn't change it back. Have to wait until it is new computer time i think!
