Great.  It's got a name now.....  Thanks Lisa for and everyone for all the ads and efforts!
Slightly clearer ad from March 1952.

Well, it would appear Mark disagree's with the ID, No expansion band! For what it's worth, it's the Academy Award P and I couldn't care less what band it may have once had. This is the only example in the data base and aside from the band it's a dead on match to the ad.

So, What would our members have me call it?? Unknown, Academy Award, or Unconfirmed Academy Award P.

One thing is sure to me, and I won't be changing my mind.

Shawn,

Please see the Lady Berkshire / Carla thread and the 1950 Academy Award thread from yesterday and the ideas expressed there about how to deal with the "strap issue".

At the end of the Lady Berkshire / Carla thread you will find an invitation from Stephen for all panel members to join in a discussion.

Hi Lisa,

Yes, I've read through once. I need to go through it all again to digest it properly, but I an in complete agreement with your views and I have no intentions of changing any of my watch ID's because the original strap or band is not on the watch.

I like the idea of an extra checkmark for a ad matching band. That makes alot more sense than Mark's point of view.

Until there's an ad that shows the same case, dial, jewel count, etc on leather then 3 ticks AA P.

Just a note on this one. I have just had one arive with original band as shown in the adverts. Interesting the band is also marked BULOVA  and date coded same as the case and movement L1, which I dont see too often. When photographed I will add to the database. A cracking original watch. I believe the quad glass crystal is original too...
