Aviator or Lieutenant? Seems sort of the end run on that model though... 51 is long in the tooth for it.

Case is similar to either the Lieutenant or maybe the Bruce; but the dial, in my opinion, does not look correct. I would expect to see a copper color dial, not one with yellow gold accents. Also, both models would use a 15 jewel movement, not the 17 jewel shown. The crown too seems to be yellow gold. Possible marriage of case to another dial and movement.

This one is a mystery for me. It appears this case style was used for mutiple years , starting in the early 1940's and into 1950/51 for multiple models, including at least the Bruce, Cadet , Ranger and Lieutenant. It appears only the Lt. was a 17 jewel, but the only ads I find in full section 1950/51 showing this face are Cadet D, but case is engraved and movement is 15J.

I am wondering if this might be a marriage. Currently unknown/ possible non-conforming for me.

The more I look at this one the more I see that the opening of the case and printing on the dial are slightly out of sync.   I think you all are right about this one possibly being a marriage.

I agree a marriage of a 1950 case with a 51 movement. Non-conforming.

Following the lead on Non-Conforming, still a great looking watch.
