10K Rose RGF with 1/20 10K RoseRGF top Scissors type expansion band. Signed dial, case back, case interior, movement. Movement marked 7AK 21j USA. Light wear, scratches, near perfect crystal, dial shows patina ,high wear. Improper minute hand (gold but should be blued as the minute and sec) . Sub dial seconds fully obscuer '6' Runs strong keepts good time (+-3-4 min per 24hr) watch sets and winds well but movement has NOT been serviced. Any other defects will be noted as discovered
There are 2 '48 Statesman in the data base, this matches one of them...The raised corners of the case differ between the two...

I recently picked up one of these with a variant dial, but the case looks pretty much the same... I haven't got it yet but curious to see it's shape... Looks to have a little brassing, but advertised as 21 Jewels

I don't have an Excellency "SS" here... but I do have it's father, the 21J mid 40s "President," in a nearly IDENTICAL... RGF case config, even! I added the correct "Excellency SS" G-S acrylic (see above 21.6mm x 17.6mm) beveled "CMX" crystal over the bezel opening... even though the Pres takes the fractional mm smaller, 21.5 x 17.5mm glass+ (The style you have in your images, above...)
