Watch Description

I picked this one up a couple of years ago. It was sold as an NOS without the movement, dated by the serial number (7007580) to 1947. The hang tags identify it as an Ambassador ‘C’ with model number 37129, which as pointed out here  is shared with the Ambassador A/B/C and the His Excellency GG/HH/II.

The distinction b/w the HE’s and Ambassador’s has generated a lot of discussion. This 1947 model is currently in the database as both an an Ambassador  and His Excellency. My understanding is that the change from the Ambassador models to the HE models is thought to have occurred at an unknown time in 1947. Looking through the ads here I was not able to find this case and dial in any ads from 1947. I did find this ad offsite from the Dunsmuir News dated December 12, 1947 (noting the hands are wrong). Another similar but not the same ad from the same jeweler using this art ran in October of 1946.

If the hang tags are to be believed it would seem that for at least some unknown amount of time in 1947 this model was being sold as an Ambassador. Thoughts?

This watch is in amazing condition. I can't see any reason why to not ID as a 1947 Bulova Ambassador.

Another 1947 example shown here for comparison

1947 Bulova Ambassador "C" is a good match.   I am comfortable with the variant designation being "C" base on the original tag.

It really is quite amazing condition. I've never seen brass spring bars like these before, which I assume are original to the watch.
