Ooh my eyes....any chance of a photo of the dial without that hideous green crystal?

:-)

Possibly, but I am wondering if that is how it came.  that is how i remember it being as a child.  Was it manufactured like this?  I am 58 and as long as i can remember, it has had that crystal.

Glass would be non original IMO.

We've seen this case before, not certain if it was ever positively ID'd.

Are you saying you've seen a case LIKE this before or you've seen THIS CASE before.  The later is impossible.  I just recieved it in my dad's belongings that were in a safe for years and he has never touched a computer in his life.   Is it the case and the Green Crystal you've seen before or just the case??  Also, EVERYTHING that i have seen from aroung the 1946 era has had a second hand at the 6 or 12.  This watch doesn't have one

Fifth is referring to the case style and not this particular watch case.

We tend to ID a model based on case style, dial and movement.

Watch is much smaller than an Ameican Clipper.  This is one of those tiny ones, probably a ladies model.

Jay, I disagree, this is certainly a mens watch and the size is correct.

This watch has a 7 series movement that takes up almost the entire case.  That would make the case around 25mm X 20 mm including the crown with a 14mm band.  That makes it a very small watch, even by vintage standards.   If it's a mans watch it is extremely small.  I have attached a picture of the Bulova Nurses Watch.  It also has a 7 series movement in a similar case.  I have seen these first hand and believe me they are very small.
