Nice find, Gold Caseback dates it to pre 1940 if it's a 15/17 Jeweler.

1939?

its a 17 jewel no date code anywhere on the movement or case, no serial number on the 10  something or another adjusted mvmnt ...just took a quick look at it without a loupe ...wants to run if you move it around so a good restorable find !!!

I really want to see some box photos of this one after you just put a nice polish on it Chris.  I think it's going to clean up pretty shiny!  Congrats on a cheap snag!

It has a little brassing on the first link or two on the band but seems pretty good besides that. I will get some pics up as soon as I can.

1938 ad, bottom row center -  'DEWEY' ?

The 1940 LE is advertised as having a Stainless Steel back.

THANKS! for this rather useful ad, Mark! :-)

The bottom center model is indeed the 1938 solid 14 karat yellow gold, "Dewey." (There were apparently two Dewey models made, as I also have a glass match from 1941 (?) that shows another Dewey, with a different case! Perhaps Stephen can ADD that model, to the Alpha index???)

WISH I had the Perfit or G-S crystal catalogs, from 1938!? (I'm missing Perfit No. 1- 5 & 7...)

GOOD SCORE, Chris !

Best :-)  Scott

I tend to think maybe so, its really hard to tell the shape in this ad tho.  And it looks like the lugs in the add are way farther out from the case to the pins, could be artistic error....we will have to keep digging but its one or the other... Will change to unk

I'd say it's a 1939 Ambassador A. ads in the database

Have not had time to open it up yet so lets not speculate on what it is too much until we have a jewel count and such, I dont even know off hand if its soild or rgp.
