Nice black face in a yellow gold case with stainless back. After pretty obsessive comparisons with others in my collection, I have come to the conclusion that this is a Lone Eagle that had the lugs cut down to the original incised lines to accommodate a later period replacement band with bigger lug ends. The lugs vary slightly in size and appear to have been cut off by hand with a jeweler's saw.
This is the third black face LE in this case to be documented in the Db. Ad reference is from 1941, depicting the LE "A", as we have no ads for subject configuration.
Running and keeping time. In excellent clean condition (with the exception of the lug chop)
