Watch Description

21 Jewel movement - I think has the original band.  This watch is in good condition except for the face which is in need of a good clean - I have a new glass crystal that is to be fitted once dial is cleaned.    Will update pictures when watch has been restored.

Hi Janet,

I'm fairly certain that this is actually the American Eagle "C" model? I have a 1939 Saturday Evening Post ad, illustrating both the "A" and "C" (but no "B") models...

The "A" sports the white porcelin dial, as shown...

The "C" has a light to medium GREY dial, with two rectangular gold bands, at the outer and sub seconds perimeters...

This watch appears to have a white circle in the center of the sub- second dial? And a grey background?? And gold banding??? If so, then this is rather the "C" varietal... vs. the "A..."

Also: the "A" model has the other metal band design, as illustrated... The "C" sports a "criss- coss" of recurring figure eights...

BEST :-)  William

Two stars (more appropriate than no stars rating) based on variant A designation.  No other problems w/ tentative?

 Hi William

I have been away working for a while and now back at home - will post up some more of my modest collection.   Thank to admin for resetting my password - I can now get back in.

Having looked closelly at this watch and the band which I believe is the original - I tend to aggree with you that it is the "C" variant and not the "A".      If you and other panel members are happy for me to edit the description of this watch - then we shall change it to "C"

Thanks

Janet

Welcome back Janet.  Sure looks like an original band like the ad above- at least where it hooks up to the lugs.  Don't know about the other William's (WatchCrystals.net) figure 8 criss cross band pattern ad? I'll check for more/other ads, and we'll watch for more pictures.    Thanks for entering your watches, and keep them coming please :)

Have put pics up of the outside back, band, and movement.    There is nothing on the inside of the case back so didn't put a pic of it
