Watch Description

Wow, this could be the oldest hang tag and VARIANT I've seen! This is another one of those watches that makes me wonder if it was ever worn, it is that crisp. This beauty comes out of the original NAMED cardboard storage box. Is nestled inside a NAMED clam shell display case that is a fresh and colorful as the day it left New York...... AND it has a hang tag with a name and a VARIANT. Top it all off with the original bracelet and it's fabulous. Whew, had to sit down when I first held this gem! Behold, the 1938 (by serial number) Bulova Phantom "D"

This is one of the best watches I have had the pleasure of seeing in a long time and is up to your usual standards Geoff.

Phantom D, three ticks.

That's slicker than deer guts on a door knob Geoff. That band really makes it look elegant.

Great one!  Phantom "D" from me.  The collection keeps growing.
I'm surprised someone at Bulova hasn't contacted you about all these.  Seems like they would, since there's not many people who have an entire collection in this condition.

It occurs to me also that Bulova might be interested in making a new version of such a classic design. They have new versions of the Aerojet, for example.

Box and all, now that's special!

I cannot believe how clean the display case and dial look for a 76 year old watch.

Anyone watch Peaky Blinders? There must be a t least ONE of you. Final episode - Michael Gray is in Canada, on Miquelon Island to blow up Tommy Shelby - he's at the bar waiting for the bomb to go off. This is a screen shot (sorry - not the beast quality) of that scene. The actor (Finn Cole) is wearing THIS VERY WATCH. I sold this beauty to my friend Luke in the UK, some of you know him, he's a member here. He works with BBC to supply period watches for television and movies. He supplied this very watch to the BBC series Peaky Blinders, of which I am a total fan boy. Imagine my joy when one of my old Bulova watches ended up in the series!

Wow that is so cool!!  We haven't watched the last season so I look forward to seeing this!!  We sold some English coins for the movie Interview with the vampire.  But we could never know if our coins were used.  This is very cool that you get to see your watch!
