There has been some discussion around this model and its close resemblence to the Minute Man model.

Having the case and crystal dimensions will help narrow down the ID.

Fifth, was the Palm Beach call based purely on the original cystal package dimensions?

The Palm Beach call was simply my believing the first Person with more knowledge than myself. I suppose I should go back to the "unknown" status?

The arrow date symbol is for 1937 not 1940.

admin,

as Greg has pointed out and as discussed in the prior thread the 'MINUTE MAN' has a slightly different shaped Crystal, the bezel does not have the step around the perimeter of the Glass and the lugs vary.

Similar, but different.

Not a Minute Man fo sure, I'd put my money on the "President" based on the 1939 case style as seen in the ads. Dial looks to be a match as well.

I agree with Shawn,

It appears to likely be either a Madison or President, based upon the approx. crystal proportions? And as the movement has been dated "1937," perhaps it's then most likely a MADISON??

(i.e. approx. 26mm x 14.4mm)

It's not a 'PREZ' with only 17 Jewels Gents.

Mark might just be right?

However after the Academy Awards, etc... I don't want to get into it with Shawn, the Attorney, nor my protege' the ad finder extraordinaire... by SIDING with, vs. taking the 5th?! Hmmm... Wonder if it's a ???

Ah that's better....I rather love it when we bicker about a model...gets the blood pumping!!

:-)

Fifth, the case you show above which has the overall length of 40mm, is that a Minute Man or a Palm Beach?

There is a big difference in length if the case in question is 45.7mm

Crusher, if you are still watching this can you possibly post some larger images of the front case?
